A police officer was wounded with a knife in Albania when a polling station was closing at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

He received a wound on his shoulder by a 32-year-old man, M.L., and is taking medical care, now in a stable condition.

The circumstances of the event are unclear, journalist Teodor Gjerga reported for Euronews Albania.

Police said they are looking for the perpetrator.
