In an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania, the Ambassador of the United States to Albania weighed in on the importance to accelerate the counting, if both sides agree.

“I have gotten some reports from all the sides that they wish that that counting is done more quickly and if this is the case then if all sides agree that the count should go quickly, there’s no reason that it should not go quickly”, said Ambassador Kim.

The Ambassador said that voters have done their part, but now it is up to counters to do their duty.

The US Ambassador said that political leaders must show patience and refrain from any proclamation of victory.

“It is the job of candidates and political leaders to wait patiently for the results and not declare victory”.

Ambassador Kim reiterated that counters must consider the fact that voters are waiting for the final result and urged them to speed up counting as well as deliver accurate results.
