The Democratic Party swept nearly 1.000 more votes winning by a small margin in the district of Dibra. Their victory secured them 3 mandates, while two will be going to the SP who ranked in second. Click here to check out the interactive map.
Albania’s main opposition parties secured 45.13% of the votes, as opposed to the Socialists who received 44.67%.
The other political force that came in third was the SMI, with 6.91%, however without being able to secure a seat in parliament.
Reporting live from Dibra, Euronews Albania’s journalist Benjamin Arifi said that in this municipality the result was overturned in favor of the Democrats.
