The annual Book Fair opened its doors again this November at the Palace of Congress in Tirana after a 2-year break imposed by the pandemic.

For the duration of 5 days, over 90 publishing houses will showcase their new titles to audiences of different age groups, thus reestablishing face-to-face communication with their readers.

In the 2021 edition, there will be publishing houses from Albania, Kosovo and other ethnic-Albanian regions.

As was common in the previous fairs, international titles will prevail over Albanian literature, but some of the publishing houses have vowed to present dozens of new titles of books written by renowned Albanian authors.

The first groups of visitors couldn’t hide their excitement in having a chance to become part of this annual event again, after a long 2-year wait.

The book fair will stay open until Sunday, whereas on Saturday, there will be an awards ceremony for the best creative works, best translation, etc.

Citizens will be able to visit the book fair without the need of presenting proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test. They will however be obligated to wear masks and not participate in large gatherings.
