A memorandum of understanding was signed today in Tirana between the Director General of the Italian National Cyber Security Agency (ACN) Bruno Frattasi and the General Director of the Albanian National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), Igli Tafa.
Through an announcement published on the official website, the Italian embassy considers this an important step in the process of bilateral cooperation between Italy and Albania in the field of cyber security.
The agreement envisages cooperation in the following sectors: strengthening cyber capabilities; exchange of information; adoption of good practices; exchange of experiences and procedures in the field of IT security; mutual assistance in the prevention and management of IT incidents; development of joint strategic projects.
Bruno Frattasi, Director General of the National Cyber Security Agency, ACN, stated:
“I am very satisfied with the agreement signed with the Albanian National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), as it strengthens bilateral cooperation between our countries in a crucial sector such as cyber security. In a context of increasingly sophisticated and widespread cyber threats, in fact, it is essential that Italy and Albania join forces to improve the security and resilience of our critical infrastructures. Not only will the capacity to respond to cyber attacks be strengthened, but it will also contribute to the stability and security of the Adriatic area, a region of strategic importance for both countries. With Italy as Albania’s largest trading partner, it is essential that the cyber security dimension also matches the high levels of cooperation between the two countries. Regarding Italy, we reiterate that we are particularly focused on the implementation of the national strategy, which among its objectives also includes the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation”.
