Electronic voting for the 2025 general elections will take part in two out of five districts; Elbasan and Durrës. The head of the State Election Commission, Ilirian Celibashi, told the political parties that they Dont have time to ready the process in the remaining three districts.

Hungarian Prime minister Viktor Orban, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European council, said that Albania should be part of the EU. The statement came as Orban met with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Budapest. The two leaders discussed new economic agreements and Hungarian investments in Albania.

Camps that will house migrants having their asylum applications processed by Italy in Shengjin and Gjader, are now complete. Several months behind schedule, on Friday, representatives of the Italian government performed the final inspection of the buildings and explained the security procedures to the media. Security inside the camp will be dealt with according to Italian law.

7 people have been arrested following the discovery of a cannabis production site in a building shared with a state institution in Tirana. Three of those under arrest are employees of the Electricity Distribution System Operator.

About 400 houses and businesses were damaged by recent floods in Vlora. Residents claim that a week after the event, no representative of the Municipality or the government has been to assess the damages.
