About us

Euronews Balkans is the first franchise in the history of the large family of Euronews Group, the number one informative news channel in Europe.

Euronews Balkans broadcasts stories and covers the interests of all Albanians in the region and throughout the Diaspora in Albanian. Euronews Balkans shares the same values, professional standards and philosophy with the international media platform, Euronews Group.

Euronews Balkans, also lays strong foundations for this media giant in the region, as it serves as a connecting bridge for the dialogue between Europe and Albanians. We enable Europe to speak Albanian and make sure that the Albanian voice is heard throughout Europe and further.

Euronews Balkans will deliver news coverage in traditional and digital platforms to guarantee the much anticipated discourse, where anyone may get confidently involved and where everyone will face the unfaltering principles of contemporary journalism.

Euronews Balkans is the home of all opinions, from Albania to Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro and everywhere else in the world. This unique platform aims to be the home of all voices. On a daily basis, we guarantee all-inclusive debates that have the public interest at heart, which we aim to serve the most.

Unlike any other media, Euronews Albania with all its digital platforms, is a pioneer of mobile journalism (mojo), which allows rapid and quality news coverage in full compliance with professional standards.

Euronews trusts in the intelligence of all individuals and believes that our duty is to convey the right amount of information in a way that empowers people to form their own opinion on the world. The news is not a matter of prejudice.

Our promise to the audience but also to our guests is: “All Views, All Voices, All Welcome”.

As a media with a strong European and multicultural DNA, Euronews is a widely recognized and trusted brand, reaching almost 400 million homes across 160 countries. It reaches more viewers in continental Europe than any of its rivals.

Since its launch in 1993 in Lyon, France, Euronews has developed the world’s first “glocal” news brand, i.e. the first global media that adapts itself to the expectation of its multiple local audiences.

In 2017, Euronews replaced its model that had been at the core of its offer since its inception by the launch of 12 distinct cross-platform editions. The different editions enable Euronews to deliver tailored content that is relevant to each audience.

With a team of 600 journalists of more than 30 different nationalities, Euronews’ 12 editions cover world news 24/7 in Arabic, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish, and lastly in Albanian.

In 2016, Euronews launched its sister channel, the first pan-African multilingual and independent news outlet, Africanews.

In June 2017, NBC News and Euronews announced their partnership. NBC News acquired 25% of the company to make a significant financial investment in Euronews to support expanded news coverage and programming.

The coming together of the two big brands has enabled Euronews to access NBC’s newsgathering, digital content and programming expertise. Likewise, Euronews provides news content and resources from Europe for use on NBC News and MSNBC programmes and platforms.
