The Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved the decision that will pave the way to purchasing the devices necessary for the biometric voter identification system.

All polling stations will have a digital system in Albania.

Taking in consideration the brief time ahead of the elections, the new decision also stipulates enacting the clause which avoids the mandatory deadline for tenders.

CEC argued that this decision was taken due to the fact that elections are less than six months away.
