An additional batch of 25 000 doses of the Sputnik vaccine arrived today in Albania, as part of the massive vaccination process in our country.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, from the Institution of Public Health, declared that until now there are over 936 000 vaccines arriving in our country.

“823 000 vaccines have been administered in total, in terms of population groups as well as groups suffering the highest risk, based on our combined vaccination plane,” stated Manastirliu.

Emphasizing that we will continue our national vaccination plan, the Minister of Health, Manastirliu added that the vaccination age range will also be lowered.

“We are now ready to lower the vaccination age-range, starting from +59, +58 and +57 years old. This is why, we invite all citizens to apply at the e-Albania portal, in order to become part of our vaccination calendar and also to directly contact their family in order to figure out the vaccination date,” stated Manastirliu.

While speaking about the controlled epidemiologic situation, the minister made another appeal to citizens to continue to keep their guards up and respect all health protocols during the entire tourist season.

Since the beginning of the vaccination process, a total of 823,053 doses of the anti-COVID vaccines have been administered. 324,616 of them have received both doses of the vaccine.
