The international comic and satirical literature competition ‘Niko Nikolla’ opened its doors with an exhibit by Kosovo caricaturist, Luljeta Goranci, who is showing a series of 30 paintings that have never been seen before.
This international annual competition with caricatures that show our day-to-day worldly concerns in a new light, is dedicated to renowned caricaturist, Niko Nikolla.
“I have been working in Kosovo for the past 50 years, focused solely in the creation of caricatures. This will be the first exhibition I launch in Albania. the majority of themes I have dealt with revolve around women’s issues as well as politics. Things like our worldly concerns, the pandemic, global warming, etc., are also amongst the topics. Naturally, I try to share messages through the style of caricatures,” – tells Luljeta Goranci.
The daughter of renowned caricaturist, Niko Nikolla, says that this annual competition is bringing together caricaturists from all over the world.
“It’s an important event for the city of Pogradec; This year, we have a women artist that captures current world issues in caricature,” – says Flora Nikolla.
This international competition in the name of Niko Nikolla, will close its doors on Sunday, with a gala awards ceremony in Tushemisht, during which there will also be a parallel comedic book show.
