During tonight’s political commentary talk-show ‘Shock’ on Euronews Albania, analysts Andi Bushati and Baton Haxhiu shared their opposing views regarding the way the head of DP, Lulzim Basha handled the ousting of Sali Berisha from the party’s parliamentary group, which has caused division and havoc amongst the Democrats, ever since its announcement.

According to Bushati, “this is the first time, since Basha entered into politics back in 2005, that he is putting Rama and Berisha on the same pedestal”, admitting that they are both part of the same coin.

Andi Bushati also added that he sees this as an attempt made by Basha in order to become a true leader and this can only be achieved after “he separates himself from Berisha and learns how to confront Rama”.

However, according to him, Basha “isn’t himself yet, he has only changed position”, as he was under Berisha’s wing earlier and now he has simply switched on to being under Yuri Kim’s wing.

In addition, Baton Haxhiu argued that Berisha has lost his battle, and that Basha’s has commenced “a new battle of the future, one where his opponent will be Edi Rama, not Berisha”.
