The common job market, the facilitation of residence permit procedures and free circulation, the recognition of social security benefits between both countries, opening the border crossing of Shishtavec in Kukes, the regulation of local regimes for border controls, recognition of diplomas etc.
These are some of the agreements mentioned by PM Edi Rama during his opening remarks at the eighth bilateral meeting between the governments of Kosovo and Albania, taking place today in Elbasan.
“The agreement we have at hand right now, is designed to facilitate procedures for obtaining an automatic residence permit. We are creating favorable conditions from both sides of the border, in order to offer better access to the job market and to take yet another step towards a gradual unification of our markets into one single space, where Albanians can work, study and create a family, by taking advantage of every contribution and social right, in spite of their geographical location. The recognition of social security benefits is an agreement that is also part of this same package,” – said Rama.
The head of state continued by underlining that our common challenge is to increase the implementation of these agreements in both countries.
