Even though it has yet to receive an official confirmation, EU Special Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak is expected to visit both Kosovo and Serbia at the end of January – early February.
Lajcak is said to be accompanied by the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.
Their visit to Prishtina could take place around February 1-2, after the diplomats come back from Belgrade.
According to the press, talks will also include the issue with the Serbian elections that were proposed to also be organized on Kosovo soil – something that was strictly refuted by PM Albin Kurti.
So far, at this point of discussions in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, the Serbia side is insisting on implementing an agreement signed during the Trump administration, about the establishment of an Association of Serb-majority communes, saying that this should be the focal point for the dialogue.
On the contrary, Kosovo is focused on resolving the issue of the disappeared persons who went missing during the Kosovo War.
