A second-tier bank located in Tirana has become the target of a group of criminals.

Euronews Albania has learned that a group of robbers, yet to be identified, had planned to enter the bank through a set of underground sewage tunnels that are linked across Blvd. Zogu I.

The distance from the entrance of the bank from these underground tunnels is around 200 meters.

Yesterday, dozens of police forces carried out patrols and checked the entire underground area of the Zogu I Boulevard in downtown Tirana.

After an extensive search operation, police have yet to report on whether or not they were able to find evidence that would lead them to the suspects.

Preliminary reports state that the criminal group was still at the ‘planning stage’ of their grand master plan that would conclude with the bank robbery.
