Prime Minister Edi Rama took it to Twitter on Friday to react to the wave of protests that erupted in the country against increased prices.

Rama accused former premier Sali Berisha and president Ilir Meta as the people behind the protest, adding that these protesters ‘do not represent the people’.

“For those who know the reach of the announced and unannounced ‘personas non-grata’, these protests are a lame effort of those shadows from the past, to manipulate the people. These are not the people, but the same loud minority looking to create disorder”, Rama wrote.
