In Albania, the number of students graduating from school has gone down.

According to data published by INSTAT, in the past 4 years,  there are around 11 thousand students that finish school.

Compared to the school year 2019-2020, last year there were around 2000 less students who graduated.

The primary school level has registered the highest drop.

During the 2017-2018 school year, around 38 thousand students graduated school, compared to the 2020-2021 year, when 32 thousand students graduated primary school, 6 000 less.

University graduates have also seen a decline. Back in 2021, there were around 2000 less students than 4 years ago.

The degrees where the highest number of graduates has been registered were Business, Administration and Law, followed by Health and Wellness, and Education.

The decline in graduates goes hand in hand with the significant decline in population.

In 4 years, the age group 5-24 years old, has declined by 90 000 citizens.
