The President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), Armand Duka and directors of sports clubs across the country are asking that the Albanian government return sports betting to Albania.
During a meeting organized this Tuesday between representatives of the Professional Football League and presidents of football clubs in the country, Duka stated that sports betting exists, despite the fact that it’s no longer allowed by the law.
According to him, 70% of profits made from running these activities, should go towards funding investments in sports, mainly football.
“Sports betting in Albania is banned by the law but in reality, they still exist in every single city. That is why, we should make a request as it concerns the law on sponsors and sports betting, direct it to the Albanian parliament and government so that they can bring it back and make it so that 70% of profits made from running these activities can go towards funding sports, mainly football.
This is an important source of funding for academies, clubs but also sports infrastructure. If you also agree, let us direct our requests in the name of the football community,” – said FSHF’s president Armand Duka.
