Wages for public school teachers will go up by 6%. This is what minister of education Evis Kushi said today after a government meeting.

Kushi also noted that this decision will benefit 36.700 public school staff, amongst whom psycho-social and security workers are also included for the first time.

Professional education, pre-school education, and teachers working in cultural and community centers for children will also be included in this pay raise.

The minister also highlighted that several new reforms are underway, starting with the “Teacher for Albania’ portal, the qualification and professional training of teaching staff as well as the upgrade of working conditions by building new infrastructures, stocking up laboratories, etc.

Along with the above-mentioned changes, a 10% rise has also been discussed for teachers working overtime.
