The Greek professor Ioannis Armakolas was this Wednesday invited to “Now with Erla Mëhillin” where he said that the social situation for Albanians in Greece has improved significantly.
According to him, this comes after they have lived in Greece for a long time and have already integrated so well that they are an integral part of life in Greece.Armakolas said that he has Albanian students and friends.
“I think the findings are impressive, for those who remember how the social relations between our two countries were in the 1990s, after the fall of communism. It was not only the political relations between the two countries that were problematic, but also the social relations, the way the Greeks perceived the Albanians.
This has changed in recent years. Greeks now have a very positive opinion of Albanians. This has been brought about by the experience of living together. The Greeks understood the Albanians and vice versa. Albanians are part of our life, they work together with us. We have them at work, in the family, at school. I am a professor and I have Albanian students. Practically today there is no difference. Despite the political problems, at the social level our two nations are very close”, said Armakolas.
