Albanian distinguished writer Ismail Kadare awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature

Albanian distinguished writer Ismail Kadare will be awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature this year.

The Nustadt Prize and Festival is a celebration of international books and culture sponsored by the World Literature Today.

The news was announced by U.S Embassy in Albania, followed by a link for anyone to register for the gala.

This year’s event will be held online and is free for anyone to join.

Ismail Kadare is an Albanian novelist, poet, essayist and playwright and a leading literary figure of the country since the 1960s. He was awarded many international prizes for literature and has been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature several times.
