Two memorandums of understanding and one interstate agreement were signed today at the Economic Forum for Regional Cooperation in Skopje between Prime Minister Edi Rama, his counterpart Zoran Zaev and President Aleksandar Vucic.
Euronews Albania has learned that the three leaders signed:
A Memorandum of Understanding for the facilitation of imports, exports, and the movement of goods in the Western Balkans.
A Memorandum of Understanding for the movement of the labor market in the region, connected with the temporary permit of stay.
A cooperation agreement for the protection and salvation from catastrophes in the Western Balkans.
The document highlights that memorandum on the facilitation of the movement of goods aims to simplify and reduce the formalities behind import/export procedures, cooperation between customs and other competent authorities as well as special dispositions on food security, veterinary matters, and the free movement of industrial non-edible products.
While the agreement for joint efforts in case of natural catastrophes includes the planning and implementation of different measures in cases of earthquakes, fires, pollution, boat accidents, radioactive incidents, pandemics as well as industrial catastrophes.
The second memorandum is tied to the free movement of the labor force in the region.
This commitment confirms the implementation of an EU law ahead of preparations to integrate with the EU Single Market.
