The tragic bus crash that took the lives of 46 passengers in Bulgaria, might have been caused by contraband diesel.
According to the Bulgarian news agency ’24 hours’, prosecutors are focused on this lead at this point of the investigation.
Investigators have also told the Bulgarian newspaper, that the bus had been carrying an extra tank of fuel while driving.
This is suspected to have been a prominent reason for the explosion that followed immediately after the crash.
The extra fuel is thought to have been intentionally brought on board, in order to be sold back home due to the difference in price.
In Turkey, diesel is much cheaper and is currently being sold for a difference of 60 Lek or €0.40 euros per liter.
