The Central Election Commission has fined 18 Commissions of Electoral Administration Zones as counters did not succeed in counting over 50% of the votes. The fine is approximately €25.

Considering today’s performance, allow me to inform you that CEC decided to impose an administrative sanction of 3,000 Albanian Lek for all members of Commissions of Electoral Administration Zones that have counted less than 50% of voting centers, therefore 18 CEAZ.

The members that received a fine have also been warned to step up the counting process.

“According to Article 122 of the Electoral Code, at least 50% of voting centers should have been counted up by now”, said Euronews Albania’s journalist.

Earlier on, CEC declared that the entire counting process would have concluded within 48 hours
