The declaration of the PM of Kosovo, Albin Kurti while in Brussels, that the dialogue with Serbia won’t be starting before he can consult with the opposition of Kosovo, has spurred a lot of backlash in the political scene of Prishtina.
The leader of the Alliance for the future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj has commended Kurti’s refusal and postponement of the meeting with Vucic to June.
However, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj didn’t share the same stance and opposed Kurti’s steps in the direction of the dialogue with Serbia.
According to Kosovo’s civil society, which for a long time now has been waiting to see cooperation and a renewed relationship between the opposition and the leading power, reconciliation is necessary but there are very few chances of it actually happening.
“I believe that it is utterly necessary and as a Civil Society, we have continuously asked for consensus and a comprehensive strategy for the dialogue process,” stated Jeta Krasniqi.
