DP’s candidate for MP, Ervin Salianji said that until now counting is pointing to the Democratic Party and SMI having 2000 votes over the Socialist Party in Korca.
Salianji was also certain that the coalition would be getting 6 mandates in Korca, 5 of which belonging to DP.
“The boxes opened to this point in Korca, are located in traditionally socialist centers and in previous elections, SP has had a big advantage but this time around, we see an increase for DP, whereas SP has a lower number of voters,” said Salianji.
He expressed his conviction that after all the ballot boxes are counted and the people’s will can be actually be read, DP will be the winning force.
Regarding yesterday’s incident in the village of Vashtemi in Maliq, where one of the Commissioners of the Democratic Party was hit by a chair by two supporters of the Socialist Party, Salianji said that DP’s campaign has been positive and a campaign presenting concrete ideas and programs.
“We have addressed the pressure imposed by the Socialist Party yesterday to adequate law-enforcement, who reacted late and I believe that we will be dealing with them in the future. Today, we will deal with the counting of votes and with protecting the vote of every citizen,” said DP’s candidate for MP, emphasizing that yesterday’s incident was inspired by SP.
