The anti-COVID vaccination process in Kosovo has officially started.
The vaccination will be conducted in the Infective Clinic as well as Prishtina’s “October 1st” hall, and will soon continue to other communes. The first to get the vaccine, are the medical personnel, who are on the frontlines of the anti-COVID battle, as well as adults over 80, who have chronic illnesses. 24 thousand citizens will be getting their first dose of the vaccine, whereas the second dose will be injected after the arrival of the next batch of vaccines expected to be distributed to Kosovo, in the days to come.
Last night, Kosovo’s PM Albin Kurti received his jab at the “October 1st” hall in Prishtina followed by the high official of OBSH in Kosovo, Isme Humolli as well as the Infectious diseases Sali Ahmeti and actor Selman Jusufi.
Sunday night, the first contingent of anti-COVID vaccines arrived in Kosovo, a batch of 24 thousand doses. These batches, the first for Kosovo, were secured by the COVAX program of the World Health Organization, which aims to supply vaccines to developing nations.
