German Chancellor Merkel congratulates Kurti on becoming Prime Minister of Kosovo

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has congratulated Albin Kurti for his post as the new Prime Minister of Kosovo by telegram.

As reported by local media KosovaPress, Merkel told Kurti that he has difficult challenges ahead and reiterated Germany’s partnership and support for Kosovo.

Furthermore, the German chancellor brought up the topic of the pandemic and the government’s objectives on reforms over the rule of law, as well as fighting corruption and organized crime.

Also, Merkel weighed in on the importance of dialogue with Serbia mediated by the European Union.
