On Europe Day, Kosovo’s wish is to lift the visa regime for its citizens.
Top state authorities have called on the EU to enable free traveling in the 27 EU member states.
“Traditionally, on this day, EU institutions open their doors to the public. It is time that they open their doors to Kosovo”, said Kosovar President Vjosa Osmani.
She said that the EU must keep its word on visa liberalization, while Prishtina must carry out “the necessary preparations to apply for candidate member state status”.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, spoke along the same lines with the president as he reiterated Kosovo’s “unwavering EU orientation” and criticized the EU for delaying the integration process.
“This dream is turning into a collective disappointment”, Konjufca said.
