The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is one of the priorities in the agenda of international diplomacy.
Meanwhile, the recommencement of discussions is anticipated to take place sometime during the month of June, which will put before one another the PM of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and Serbia’s President Aleksander Vucic. Preparations for this meeting are being carefully overseen by both Kosovo as well as other EU member states.
This matter has also been a part of discussions during the meeting of EU Foreign Ministers, in the last 2 days. Yesterday, announcements were also made on a call between PM Kurti and German MFA Haiko Mass.
Through a message on Twitter, Germany’s Minister of Foreign Affairs wrote parts of what was said during the call between Minister Heiko Mass and Albin Kurti, citing Minister Mass having said the following “the European perspective of the Western Balkans is a fundamental matter for Germany’s Foreign Politics and the Dialogue with Serbia, is a key matter”.
In addition, in his own announcement, the Prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti didn’t mention the issue of the dialogue with Serbia as being one of the topics of discussion writing that:
“It was a productive phone call with the German MFA, Heiko Maas,” – wrote Kurti, by emphasizing Kosovo’s perspective and the strong bilateral relations.
Germany is one of the countries that has exhibited great attention towards these talks and its stance has always been against any kind of border changes or adjustments in the region.
