Kosovo PM Albin Kurti under increased security following life threats

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received life threats, leading to increased security measures, confirmed the government’s spokesperson for local media KosovaPress.

He also added that an investigation is ongoing.

“Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received life threats. For this reason, as a precautionary measure, we have increased the level of security. The Prosecution and law enforcement agencies are doing their job”, said government spokesperson Përparim Kryeziu, while adding that the prime minister will proceed with his regular agenda.

KosovaPress reached out for an official statement from the Kosovo Police but did not receive a response by the time this article was published.

It is still unknown who might have threatened the prime minister, nor the reasons behind that, however, increased police presence was seen near his residence.
