Kosovo has decided to temporarily halt all exports of its basic agricultural food products.
The decision was made during this Wednesday’s government meeting.
The argument presented by government officials is the fact that the war in Ukraine has resulted in economic difficulties that are being felt in markets all over the world.
Products that will no longer be exported – at least temporarily – are wheat, flour, oil, sugar and salt, said the minister of industry, enterprise, and commerce, Rozeta Hajdari.
In today’s meeting, the government also adopted a relief package amounting to €100 million euros for citizens of various groups.
Meanwhile, earlier today the Kosovo government also adopted a draft bill that will bring up the national minimum wage to €250 euros per month after tax.
