Kosovo’s Specialist Prosecution Office arrested a man from Vitomirica, a village near Peja, of Montenegrin descent, after allegations of being involved in war crimes.

The case is believed to be connected to the offensive of Serb military forces dated May 1999 in the region of Peja where 9 ethnic Albanian civilians were murdered and another 5 disappeared.

Upon an order from the State Prosecutor, the suspect was detained by the police and will face trial.
