Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu said during Euronews Albania’s “NOW with Erla Mehilli” that Arben Ahmetaj cannot be arrested today.
This, according to him, since the Constitution guarantees him a kind of immunity, thanks to which SPAK needs the authorization of the Parliament for the measure of prison arrest.
“Arben Ahmetaj cannot be arrested today because the Constitution guarantees him a type of immunity in which SPAK must make the request to obtain the authorization of the Albanian Parliament for the measure of arrest in prison. I don’t call it a coincidence if the request for Ahmetaj’s arrest is made when Rama is out of the country. I think that Parliament should decide when the SP will be complete there, as it has the obligation to do so”, said Spahiu.
