“Don’t shift your attention away from the electoral process, don’t lose your focus because of other news. The elections aren’t done,”- this is how Meta started his speech, addressing his word to the journalists.
During a press conference, Meta explained that the results are only preliminary because the counting process hasn’t finished while adding that the process of appeals and contestations hasn’t even started yet.
Meta also mentioned the emigrants and citizens infected with COVID-19, whose right to vote was denied and he also touched on the higher than usual number of invalid ballots.
While referring to them as elements that eventually affected the electoral process, Meta called for a raised awareness and doubts regarding the validity of the ballot papers, as well as a need to follow the process with as much transparency as possible.
“The video footage is there and it is very easy to look at them and to put together an expertise if a ballot has two crosses and if the same hand made them or if they’re from two different hands, thus the hand of the voter or the hand of the commissioner, the realtor and all those working for and administering the process with the goal of tampering with the vote and the people’s will,” – said Meta.
The president also called on all political forces to not make a post-electoral analysis but to focus on a conclusion until the end, of the electoral process of April 25th.
