The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, is currently in Brussels where he said that he will not attend a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on the 11 of May, which had been announced by EU High Representative Josep Borrell.
Kosovo’s executive chief said that the next time he will be visiting Brussels will be over a working lunch meeting along with other leaders from the Western Balkans.
“I cannot be present at a meeting that I have not confirmed my attendance in advance. What I can confirm is that I will come to Brussels for a working lunch or dinner organized by High Representative Borrell, by mid-May, where leaders of the Western Balkan will be present,” Kurti said.
He emphasized that dialogue with Serbia must be well-prepared, as according to him Kosovo does not have the luxury to face “new failures”.

I shared our priorities for jobs and justice, our commitment to the EU and urged visa liberalization. We agreed to increase economic cooperation. pic.twitter.com/d8qTXD44si— Albin Kurti (@albinkurti) April 28, 2021
Kurti reiterated that the scope of the two-day visit is strengthening bilateral ties prior to turning to a new chapter in talks with Serbia.
