The recent act of the High Judicial Council on the new judicial map undermines citizens’ interests and rights.
This is what Aurela Anastasi, a member of the steering committee of the National Chamber of Advocacy told to the host of ‘Now’ Erla Mehilli.
“It creates hardship for citizens and lawyers as the courts become more distant and it representation becomes more difficult. It’s also related with increased costs, both on citizens and lawyers”, said Anastasi.
She also added that one of the other risks are delays in judicial processes, as attorneys will have to travel from one district to another.
She said the interests of lawyers are interconnected with those of the citizens and the request posed is directly tied to the rights of the citizens such as constitutional rights.
