Edvin Kulluri, member of ‘Group for DP’ said on Euronews Albania’s ‘Raw Politics’ that even though he’s on his third term in government, PM Rama cannot have absolute power because he has two “crucial opponents that have set out the red lines”.
The Constitutional Court and the High Court, according to Kulluri are the institutions that will help keep the balance. He commended the judgments made by the Constitutional Court against the government, which according to Kulluri means good news for Albanian society in general.
“The good news is that both high courts in the judicial hierarchy are up and running, even if the opposition isn’t allowed to exercise its full function in parliament,” said Kulluri.
While commenting on the role of the current leadership of the Democratic Party, Mr. Kulluri said that he sees a definite lack of democracy within his party structures.
According to Kulluri, being that he is the historical leader of the party, DP’s former Chair, Sali Berisha, should have spoken in depth about what has happened within the DP.
Kulluri also added that 20 MPs won’t receive their mandate in September due to the pressure exerted from the international factor.
“The ruling party will be more penalized, because they are the ones that caused the most major damage,” concluded Kulluri.
