The Albanian police performed poorly last night in Tirana, not because of its level of professionalism, but because it was used by political actors and prevented from carrying out its duties.
This is what analyst Andi Bushati said on Wednesday’s Shock airing on Euronews Albania.
According to him, at the end of the day, the Albanian State Police showed that it plays by double standards.
He took aim at the protests organized by the opposition and the police used violence to disperse protesters.
His other example was the actions of the police seen on Tuesday, with Bushati arguing that despite several cases where football fans were behaving violently, the police hesitated to counteract with the same force in order not to damage the country’s image in the eyes of the rest of the world.
