Albanian PM and leader of the Socialist Party Edi Rama called for “self-restraint” during a press conference from the party’s headquarters and asserted that the main thing is for the country to win, and not simply the party that will come in first at the elections.
“All ballots are inside the boxes. The people have spoken and now we must listen to them. The task of every counting team and observer is to carry out their duties with the highest sense of civil and legal responsibility and contribute in an accurate counting process”, said Rama.
The chair of the ruling party claimed that polls show the Socialists as the frontrunners.
“Now we must wait for the results that are inside the ballot boxes, the final result of the match”, said Rama.
“Tomorrow the sun will rise again and Albania will smile” added Rama. “Albania must come out victorious from the process, not the winning party”.
