With the aim of educating children in humanitarian values, the exhibition “Children and the Red Cross” was organized in Elbasan.
Organizers emphasized that there is no better way to convey humanitarian values than through art created by small hands and pure hearts.
Through their artworks, the children conveyed different messages, while the painting that won first place was created by Ajla Çaushi, who explained to Euronews Albania the message behind her work.
“Through this painting, I wanted to send the message that the Red Cross, with its spirit, manages to help people overcome difficulties. Furthermore, the Red Cross is a light of hope for all of us and for those in need,” said Ajla Çaushi.
Such activities aim to promote the spirit of volunteerism and humanitarianism in helping the most vulnerable and supporting one another.
“Should youth be involved in such initiatives? Absolutely yes. At the end of the day, we are the future of our nation, and why shouldn’t we be the voice of change? Let’s make Albania a more advanced and better place. I think that as long as we don’t personally experience a situation that requires help, like those addressed by the Red Cross, we don’t fully understand the need. That’s why I believe such activities should be numerous, to strengthen solidarity among young people,” said one of the Red Cross activists.
“It is very important that children and young people are educated with the spirit of volunteerism and helping others, especially when it comes to the older generations – our parents and grandparents. This serves society in creating a stronger and more beautiful collective spirit,” said one attendee.
The young artists not only gave a special light to the exhibition but also touched the hearts of every person present, showing the path toward the big family of Red Cross Volunteers.
This big family is always close to those in need, something beautifully reflected in the children’s drawings.
