After a meeting that lasted around one hour, the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani said that she expects Slovenia to continue bilateral cooperation in the field of security and education.<\/p>\n

Osmani also said that the country\u2019s borders have been established in 2008, so now it is time to discuss current topics.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur borders were established in 2008. Kosovo is willing to sit and discuss topics that are important for our country\u201d, she stated.<\/p>\n

Vjosa Osmani and Slovenian President Borut Pahor spoke on the steps required for the Brdo-Brijuni Process, an annual multilateral event initiated by the Slovenian president, as well as the need to ramp up Kosovo\u2019s integration process. Moreover, Osmani called on her counterpart for vaccine support.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guaranteed to the president that European integration is a priority to Kosovo. The reforms that need to be taken are not seen as imposed from above but as a need for our citizens. Kosovo has fulfilled the criteria for visa liberalization\u201d, said president Osmani.<\/p>\n

\u201cI informed the president that we still need support in regards to the vaccine. I hope that Slovenia will help Kosovo because as our people say \u201cA friend in need is a friend indeed\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

During their joint press conference, Slovenian President Borut Pahor declared that he is hopeful that the country will send a positive message to the EU.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will try to see if we can say something more optimistic regarding the European perspective of Balkan states. On a peace and security aspect for the Western Balkans, it is essential for the EU to come to a stance that enlargement is of a geopolitical essence. The EU must speed up the process and look at this area in its entirety\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
