According to Andi Bushati, the developments that ensued after the general polls were not coincidental, hinting at the Constitutional Court\u2019s decision to consider whether local elections were legitimate, as well as a lawsuit filed against the former interior minister Fatmir Mediu and the two-year prison sentence of former prosecutor general Adriatik Llalla.<\/p>\n

\u201cA regime cannot have an independent judicial, you must be a fool of the regime to believe that justice is working\u201d, Bushati said. \u201cRegarding the decision on the polls, government-affiliated media have already started propagandizing the decision, betting whether the Constitutional Court will side with the United States or Ilir Meta\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, analyst Baton Haxhiu described the Bushati\u2019s belief as \u201cprejudice\u201d as the Court has yet to rule over the Rama-Meta dispute tied to the latter\u2019s decision to refuse to decree Gent Cakaj as foreign affairs minister.<\/p>\n

In regards to the local polls, Haxhiu believes that it will be the court to determine whether President Meta should remain in office.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision of the Constitutional Court will indicate whether Ilir Meta should remain or not\u201d, said Haxhiu, adding that the justice reform kicked off on a wrong note as it should have started from the lowest ranks in the hierarchy of the justice system.<\/p>\n
