High speed is another element, which becomes the cause for further penalization during the frequent random checkpoints conducted by the Traffic Police. A total of 398 driving licenses have been suspended because of this reason alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apart from driving under the influence and over the limit, Albanian motorists have been penalized for the following reasons: \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wrong overpassing \u2013 2458<\/p>\n<p>Use of cellphone while driving \u2013 1444<\/p>\n<p>Not wearing a seatbelt while driving \u2013 590<\/p>\n<p>Not using a helmet while riding a motorbike \u2013 512<\/p>\n<p>The Traffic Police appeals to drivers to respect the rules and regulations the Road Code, as this increase in checkpoints comes as a result of the high number of road accidents that have been reported recently.<\/p>\n<p>According to statistics published by INSTAT, in the first 4 months of 2021, the number of roadside accidents has increased by 35.6%, compared to the same period last year.
