The High Inspectorate of Justice (ILD) has submitted a request at the High Judicial Council regarding the suspension and dismissal of the Head Justice at Elbasan’s District Court, Mrs. Enkeleda Kapedani.<\/p>\n

According to ILD, this request comes as a result of Kapedani\u2019s actions on her social media account, which highly discredit the position of a judge. In the document obtained by Euronews Albania, ILD argues that Judge Kapedani has breeched the Constitution, the Law on the Status of Judges and Prosecutors as well as the Code of Judicial Ethics, in regards to the clauses on integrity, good conduct and self-restraint.<\/p>\n

A disciplinary probe has been ordered by the head of ILD, Artur Metani regarding the activities of Kapedani on her social network, namely Tik Tok. Her selfie-<\/em>style videos, accompanied by inappropriate background music, have been circulating on the media for days now, prompting an outrage claiming obvious violations of the Code of Ethics.<\/p>\n

The detailed report submitted by ILD\u2019s four High Inspectorates, argues that all the above-mentioned violations have led to the proposal of the disciplinary measure \u201ctermination from duty\u201d.<\/p>\n

The High Judicial Council is expected to convene within the next three days in order to assess the request of the High Inspectorate of Justice (ILD) and issue a final decision.<\/p>\n

Enkeleda Kapedani completed her law studies from 2005-2009, specializing afterward in Civil Law cases as well as pursuing the School of Magistrates. She has been a judge since 2013, working initially at the Court of Tirana and was then transferred to the Court of Elbasan.<\/p>\n

In 2020, she was elected at the top post of the Court of Elbasan, after the resignation of Zihni Shahu, seven months after the vetting process.<\/p>\n
