Several police officers from the region of Lezha are taking the mayor of the city, Pjerin Ndreu, to court after the latter refused to obey their orders.<\/p>\n

The whole story began as the mayor was at a bar that was playing music after 10 PM, which is the nationwide curfew hour.<\/p>\n

The police officers approached the owner of the bar but he refused to comply to their orders.<\/p>\n

According to the lawsuit, when the police patrol detained the owner of the bar, Ndreu stepped in declaring that he is the one \u201cto give the orders\u201d.<\/p>\n

His intervention led to a lawsuit filed by the police officers at the Prosecution of Lezha.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook status<\/a>, Ndreu defended himself by saying that he was at the presence of several mayors from Kosovo, and only 20 minutes after curfew hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I would like to extend my apology for surpassing the curfew hours by 20 minutes, I reiterate that a fine would be more adapt, but not the violent behavior\u201d, Ndreu said.<\/p>\n

He also added that the law enforcement officers went beyond their competencies and for this, he urged the Chief of Police to call witnesses of all the persons that were present during the incident.<\/p>\n
