In the first six months of 2021, the state budget collected 39 billion Albanian Lek more from the same period last year.<\/p>\n

It appears that the Albanian economy is turning the page from the 2020 pandemic crises when referring to data from January to June.<\/p>\n

The fiscal tables of the Ministry of Finance evidenced that revenue grew by 234 billion Albanian Lek, with the main contributors were custom and tax revenues.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, government expenditures in the first half of the year were 263 billion Albanian Lek or 30 billion more than last year.<\/p>\n

Pension index adjustments, wage raises for health care and education staff, as well as investment, were the lead factors that contributed to more expenditures from the state.<\/p>\n

But, in 2020, the financial damage caused by abusive tenders was estimated at \u20ac5 million.<\/p>\n

Based on an audit report compiled by the Finance Ministry, the Public Procurement System is among the most problematic, responsible for one-half of the financial damage to public institutions.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the report shows that the general economic damage totals \u20ac10 million.<\/p>\n

The other sectors that contributed the most to the economic losses were abuses in taxations and custom system (\u20ac3.9 million), followed by wages, compensations, concessions, and property administration.<\/p>\n
