{"id":17531,"date":"2021-07-16T20:55:20","date_gmt":"2021-07-16T18:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=17531"},"modified":"2021-07-16T20:55:20","modified_gmt":"2021-07-16T18:55:20","slug":"diesel-prices-go-up-in-albania-experts-taxes-need-to-be-reconsidered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/diesel-prices-go-up-in-albania-experts-taxes-need-to-be-reconsidered\/","title":{"rendered":"Diesel prices go up in Albania, experts: Taxes need to be reconsidered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A liter of diesel is being sold for days now in petrol pumps all around the country, up to 180 ALL, whereas a month ago it was 10-15 ALL cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>This has come as a result of the rise in diesel prices in the stock market, which has seen a rise in demand after the global opening of the economy since the pandemic, which has brought up prices in the international market, where a barrel of diesel is sold for $73,8 US dollars.<\/p>\n<p>However, in Albania for years now consumers have been systematically complaining about the prices of fuel, which exceed those of the region and even Europe.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, for every liter of fuel bought here, citizens pay 100 ALL in 7 direct taxes, 5 of which go directly to the State Treasury and two go to the accounts of concessionaries.<\/p>\n<p>But, how does Albania compare to other countries?
