Tirana, Lezha, Fier and Durres are the counties most affected by these life-threatening incidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe high number of accidents during this timeframe has been caused by the age group 25-34, making up 29% of all roadside accidents,\u201d reports INSTAT.<\/p>\n<p>Ages over 60 were found to be the most careful while driving, according to these statistics, whereas young drivers up to 24 years of age, cause the majority of these accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Only in the month of June, data shows that 161 citizens were involved in car accidents and 15 of them unfortunately lost their lives due to them.<\/p>\n<p>In the majority of cases, authorities assess that the accidents occurred because of the drivers\u2019 reckless behavior, but the number of accidents caused by pedestrians has also seen a rise with up to 45% compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Police force have notified that they are trying to solve the current spike in accidents through an increase in roadside patrols, especially in problematic areas, where every day they are issuing thousands of fines and measures to drivers violating the Road Code, speeding limit, or driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>Road experts have raised the alarm that the high number of reports on crashes and accidents continues to be a high cause for concern in our country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania\/2021\/06\/25\/90-dead-from-road-accidents-in-5-months-drivers-to-blame-in-80-of-the-cases\/\">90 dead from road accidents in 5 months, drivers to blame in 80% of the cases<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania\/2021\/06\/20\/road-accidents-in-may-2021-60-higher-than-the-previous-year\/\">Road accidents in May 2021, 60% higher than the previous year<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"title-post\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/albania\/2021\/06\/30\/over-the-last-5-years-albania-registered-133-victims-due-to-workplace-accidents\/\">Over the last 5 years \u2013 Albania registered 133 victims due to workplace accidents<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>105 citizens lost their lives due to roadside accidents in the first 6 months of 2021, according to a study published by the Institute of Statistics.
