The deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo as well as diplomatic chief Donika G\u00ebrvalli has called the regional initiative \u201cOpen Balkan\u201d as something \u201cdangerous\u201d as it creates the idea that the region has another alternative apart from integrating into the European Union.<\/p>\n

In a joint press conference with her counterpart from Skopje, the foreign affairs minister ruled out the necessity of the region from these initiatives.<\/p>\n

Her reaction comes one day after North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania signed an agreement and 2 memorandums of understandings in line with the Open Balkan, previously dubbed the \u201cmini-Schengen\u201d, openly stating her government\u2019s stance in its affront.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt creates the idea of conveying a message that there is another alternative apart from the region\u2019s joint path to the EU. Conveying this message is as dangerous as the delays in the European integration\u201d, said G\u00ebrvalla.<\/p>\n

The government of Kosovo did not have any representatives and denied having received an invitation at all.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Donika G\u00ebrvalla traveling to North Macedonia on her first official visit.<\/p>\n

Her agenda includes a meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, President Stevo Pendarovski, and her counterpart Bujar Osmani.<\/p>\n
