{"id":18629,"date":"2021-08-09T16:30:38","date_gmt":"2021-08-09T14:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=18629"},"modified":"2021-08-09T18:01:52","modified_gmt":"2021-08-09T16:01:52","slug":"kosovo-sees-rising-covid-19-infections-among-younger-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/kosovo-sees-rising-covid-19-infections-among-younger-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Kosovo sees rising COVID-19 infections among younger people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kosovo did not register any COVID-19 related mortality on Monday, however, the country of 1.8 million is seeing a rise in new infections.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Health says that 263 citizens tested positive and one person died over the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the positive cases belong to the age group of 20-29, while the most affected city is Prishtina.<\/p>\n<p>Also, eight other citizens have recovered, bringing their total number to over 105,000, since the beginning of the outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>There has been a rapid rise in active cases, declare authorities, as according to the data reported by the National Health Institute, there are currently 2,271 active infections across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Specialists link the increasing tendency of infections with the rapid spread of the &#8220;Delta&#8221; variant.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 2,271 patients have died from COVID-19 in Kosovo, most of them with other underlying diseases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kosovo did not register any COVID-19 related mortality on Monday, however, the country of 1.8 million is seeing a rise in new infections.
